For the truth seekers

Beloved Friends… in his own words

Henceforth I call you not servants,
for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth;
but I have called you friends, for all things
that I have heard of my Father I have made
known unto you.
John 15:15

Beloved friends,

Some time has passed since I was last among you, and I know that many of you long for my return... and long for it because you hope that when I return your happiness will be complete, and that everything you consider wicked will come to an end forever...

The first thing that I want you to know is that I never left... I know that it is not easy to understand, but I tell you that when you look into the faces of your brothers and sisters, you look also into mine, and each time you see tears in their eyes or hear their laughter, those are my own tears that you see, and it is my own laughter that you hear...

I want you to understand that although I was flesh and blood and as real as you yourselves are now, at the same time I became a divine metaphor in the most solemn poem ever created, so that you might be educated and guided. And that is why there are so many versions and interpretations of my legacy...

And I would have you know that this diversity has occurred because you, my friends, have a great diversity of perceptions and opinions, and that is good, for it is a useful mixture from which truth, in its inherent clarity, always emerges...

But it happens, beloved friends, that you are too accustomed to just seeing that which you look at and just looking at what you see, but you should know that you have the potential to see much more than you look at, and to look at much more than you see... and that is why it is not easy for you to understand that I never left... It is another of your mysteries.

And today I tell you that those things that you call mysteries are in reality achievements to be attained by the most genuine and sublime among you, and you should perceive them as challenges imposed upon your intelligence by the divine wisdom. If you perceive the mysteries in that way, and carry out the labor that is required, your ability to perceive will grow and you yourselves will grow with it, and you will be able to unlock the mysteries one by one, thereby broadening your vision and understanding of the marvelous process that is life...

And this is the reason for the metaphor: There are certain laws that establish the need for human effort in achieving those goals, and they were created in that way so that those achievements might never perish...
I am the metaphor of the mysteries and at the same time mystery made metaphor, so that by the effort of your deliberations and your thoughts you may achieve the understanding that no one can give you, but that you must reach for yourselves, for it is personal, and as I have told you, beloved friends, it shall remain forever.

And I am speaking to you in a different way than I spoke to my beloved disciples and to the people of my time, because your ignorance is not so great as theirs was... Many generations have passed; countless material and cultural achievements have been attained as a result of the efforts of those generations. Yet with all those achievements, you should know that you suffer under the same weaknesses and you have the same inner limitations as the people of my time suffered and had...

And what makes you more blameworthy than they when you act badly is that my witness has been given and my word has been spoken, and today knowledge is more accessible, for there are a multitude of precedents and options that provide you with much greater discernment between what is right and what is wrong, what is good and what is evil...

Today, you and your society have much greater evidence, many more resources of information, and much greater certainty when you make decisions, and thus your responsibility is greater...

And you should know that the evil that some of you hope will disappear upon my return, shall cease to exist only when you are able always to choose good.

Only then will evil cease to exist. For if not, what merit will you have achieved? ...

The only way to raise yourselves in self-worth is through the implicit merit that is gained through always choosing good.

The free will that you now enjoy is an eternal good. And that means that you shall always have the power to do evil... Thus, if evil ceased to exist, how could future generations raise themselves in self-worth?... How could they make themselves meritorious through their actions if they did not have the power to choose between good and evil? ... Or do you think that the day shall come when women shall no longer give birth and children cease to grow? ... The generations to come will meet the same challenges and have the same opportunities that you enjoy today, just as they shall also bear the same burdens and face the same consequences entailed by their choices between good and evil...
But the day shall surely come when, in your decisions at the individual level, good shall prevail forever, and that is what shall lead you to perfection... and make possible that return...

My return is within each and every one of you. And that moment when I am in you, and you are in me, will be the moment when you merit being called children of God...

The path to that achievement is a hard one to travel, but it is necessary... I know that when you dream of my return you dream of instantaneous happiness, you dream of being freed from that burden that results from making choices between good and evil, you dream of avoiding the most important responsibilities that you have-responsibilities to yourselves. You wish for the easy way... But seek to understand that that is not possible. The reason for life is to grow in knowledge and love and also to develop the awareness of the true self that each of you really is and that achievement is only obtained thought effort and constancy, and that which is easy does not help you in this supreme endeavor. You must understand that; it is just that simple...

My beloved ones, free yourselves from those pointless dreams, attain for yourselves that which no one shall ever be able to give you.

You have always been fascinated by predictions of the future, which many of you have idealized in many different ways. You must know that those questionings are pointless, and you achieve nothing through them...

Today I tell you that the events of the future will be the result of what you are able to do in your present, and that you must use your mind more in reflecting on what is truly substantial, putting aside the imaginary things that so delight you but so little give you.

At present, every day brings you discoveries, and you unlock the secrets of matter. Every day you create new products and technologies that make your mundane chores easier and more pleasant, bring you financial wealth, which is so fascinating to so many of you and which so few of you enjoy... But you must establish the correct balance between the time and energy that you devote to the world and the time and energy that you devote to that inner being that each of you truly is. I say this to you as individuals and as a society, for upon the society falls the collective responsibility to warn and educate each of its members in their most sacred duties.

Beloved friends, today I speak to you not in parables, but you should treasure and study all those parables that were recorded in the scriptures, for each of them is a verse of that solemn poem that was my earthly life. You must stop wasting time in arguments over doctrines, precepts, and dogmas... and go instead to the substance, to that which truly has value. Use your intelligence to discern and discover for yourselves my true message. Use more time to study and reflect, and less time listening to the modern Pharisees that flourish in all spheres of thought today... For they shall be known by their fruits... .

Long ago I told you that if you persevered in my word you would know the truth, and that the truth would set you free, and today you have the resources to be freer, and therefore today I give you this new commandment: Know that you are free, for you were born free... and discover for yourselves what your path shall be, and walk that path with your own legs and your own feet, and know that the paths to that destiny that you all long for are as many as you yourselves... Understand that no one in this world can claim for himself or herself a monopoly on the truth. Long ago I told you that I would send to you the spirit of the truth; know, now, that that spirit dwells in your hearts. All you must do is listen closely with all your senses and pay due attention to its voice...

But be aware that that freedom entails the supreme responsibility of effort and constancy in seeking, each day, the right direction and in walking, each day, the distance that is given you to walk...

And laziness is one of the enemies that must be conquered along that path. It is cunning and seductive, and you must meet it and conquer it, just as you meet and conquer the temptations that you face every day, the temptations to do evil. And to do this you must use your will and your conviction that it is right to act in this way, for it is to your own benefit to do so... And ignorance, you must also conquer, and to conquer it much effort and much sacrifice is needed. Ignorance is the malignant thing that holds you back and makes you stumble, and laziness is its best ally, for to conquer ignorance you must perform the hard internal labor of instructing yourself. Thus, be tenacious and constant, and the knowledge that you attain will provide you the correct direction, the direction that you need in order to free yourselves from all the obstacles you encounter on your path, for you must know that knowledge is the ally of love, and those are the tools that you shall need... they are your greatest allies in your daily pilgrimage.

Long ago, with my life I gave many examples. I would have you know that I had to struggle against those same enemies, and as I conquered them, so you can also conquer them. I would have you know also that you will have no obstacles to overcome that I did not have, and you will have no pain or grief to suffer that I did not also have.

Convince yourselves that the potential you were born with is a grace from the Father, a living testimony to His infinite generosity. But there are other graces, gifts and powers that are obtained only though the excellence of the labor that you exert upon yourselves and upon your fellow men and women throughout your lives… These graces, gifts and powers must be earned…

You must understand many things, and one of the most important is the value of humility... By being small you guarantee your greatness. Make not yourselves great, and you shall be made great; make not yourselves wise and you shall be recognized as wise; praise not yourselves and you shall be praised. Humility is generous in just that way, and it is in the generosity that virtues offer to the men and women that cultivate them that its value lies. It is a good that enriches the spirit and strengthens it. Cultivate the virtues greatly, for they ensure your prompt arrival at that destiny that awaits you. I tell you that the virtues, too, are powerful allies...

But you should always be prepared to meet the danger entailed by the consciousness of your own virtue, and never allow your ego to induce you to pride yourselves on your own worth... You must identify the ego as well, and always be alert to its caprices and prepared to counter them, for it is supremely sophisticated and its cunning tricks can make you fall into banality.

Beloved ones, I would also have you understand that the way to have more is to desire less. It is that simple… Constant desire is the cause of pointless anguish, and you should convince yourself that you will attain inner peace and harmony when you identify and appreciate that which is truly valuable, those things that you already possess, both materially and spiritually. You must come to understand the difference between ambition and the praiseworthy need to prosper, for ambition is dictated by the ego while the need to prosper is the best of one’s self. Ambition constantly longs for the much, the easy, and the rapid, while the need to prosper longs for improvement in moderation, no matter the time it takes or the effort that is needed or the risks that present themselves in obtaining this improvement.

Long ago I commanded that you love one another, yet many of you still do not obey that commandment. It is to you, those who look at your neighbor with suspicion, resentment, and animosity, that I want to speak now... I know that you have a baggage filled with reasons for being the way that you are: You have been disillusioned, robbed, and victimized in countless ways. And with those reasons you justify yourselves when you do the same to your brothers and sisters... But when you act in that way you show your ignorance, you show how repressed within the depths of your hearts is that seed of love that you were born with… and that is both the sin and its own repayment... But it is through the commandment to love one’s neighbor that you shall wipe clean the sin and the unhappiness and bitterness that always accompanies it...

And I also told you not to strike back against the wrongdoer: if someone strikes you on your right cheek, you should offer him also the left. Turning the other cheek to the person who strikes you means much more than words are able to show... It is domination of your emotions, domination of your instincts; it is to be human in its maximum expression; it is to disarm the aggressor without yourselves becoming aggressors; it is to grow through adversity by not allowing that aggressor or that adversity to conquer you and thereby strip you of the most noble aspect of your being. You must understand that. It is another step to take on that path chosen by you...

But that does not mean that you should stand with your arms crossed in the face of the base acts of some persons that you meet along your way. Remember my attitude when I met the moneychangers in the temple… I expelled them with all the severity that they deserved... You should know that from time to time you will have to use the authority required by the occasion and take right action, and in doing that, your conscience and your intelligence must be your guide.

You should also understand what I have just reminded you of: All of you were born with the seed of love planted in your hearts, and you should not allow your mind to repress it, to keep it from germinating. For that seed is your most precious inheritance, an inheritance that comes directly from the Supreme Creator. And if you care for it and cultivate it with passion and devotion it will help you open your consciousness wide enough to understand the miracle that is you yourselves, to unlock the secrets that lie hidden in your own heart...
You are the miracle of miracles... And when you understand this truth you will realize how ignorant are those who constantly pray for miracles so that they will be able to believe. I was asked for a miracle just yesterday, and today I am asked yet again, and the more these persons ask, the more blind they become...

The good works that I performed long ago were necessary so that the people of my time and of all times would believe; they guaranteed my place in history, guaranteed that my legacy would endure as part of history forever, to the profit of all generations and all peoples... Beloved friends, you are surrounded by miracles on every side; it is the very constancy of those miracles and your nearsightedness that cause you to perceive them as everyday, common things... Beloved, open your eyes and marvel at the creation that you are part of. Enjoy the divine banquet to which you have been invited.

And that is one of the ways to honor the Father: Work every day to open your eyes ever wider, to become more and more aware of your own existence and appreciate it more and more. I came to give witness to His infinite love and to show you the way to become worthy of that love, so that you might give it to Him and your fellow men and women in return, for their happiness and your own...

Recently you have had the opportunity to witness a modern version of the Calvary walked by me. I know that many of you have been profoundly moved by the visions of the flagellation inflicted on me and the blood running down my body. . . you have felt my pain, and experienced shame and indignation at the infamy to which I was subjected. Many of you have wept and been grieved by the horror of what you saw. Taking the story that up to now you have known only through words and making it graphic has allowed you to share that Calvary with me, and the greatest benefit you can draw from that experience is the conviction that there is no pain that does not bring renewal… My martyrdom led to my resurrection.

And with my martyrdom and resurrection, the Father increased your potential, and sealed it forever…. Today I tell you that if the physical pain was a heavy burden to me, much more burdensome is that pain caused by the vileness that ignorance engendered, and still engenders, in many men and women. . . . Yet with my pain there also came my joy, and the piety and compassion shown to me by so many souls of yesterday and today has been and still is my greatest joy. . .

My beloved ones, I gave my life for you, and for you I recovered it. . . It is you, the pious and compassionate, who are my greatest hope and my greatest delight. But you must know, as I know, that it is not you who have the greatest need of me—no, it is sinners, vile and ignorant men and women who have the greatest need of me and of piety and compassion. And that is why I ask those who are fertile of heart, those who follow me and love me, to be guides to the blind, teachers of the ignorant and of the vile, for in doing so you will become guides of other guides, teachers of other teachers, and will turn vileness into love.

There is no other path, my beloved ones. It is only through your generosity and that commitment that each of you must make that you will be able, with your lives and actions, to improve your society and free yourselves, day by day, from all the evils that beset you. That attitude will make you worthy of the grace and peace that you so long for and that so few truly strive to achieve.

Individualism has plagued you. I know very well that you are too concerned with your financial improvement, and that constant competition among you for useless ostentation and the enjoyment of material things often drags you down and causes you to lose sight of what is truly most worthy of your time and effort. That does not make you a bad person, but it does delay that which you must irremediably achieve, my beloved ones. Your growth is a mission that you cannot and must not shirk; for that you were born and for that you were given life, and that is law and at the same time the greatest grace that you have received. . . .

And that knowledge is part of that truth that you so long to know and for which so many kind and generous souls have given their lives. . . . Today I tell you that the commitment to help one’s fellow men and women to understand and become aware of the reason for their existence, to value the best use of each second of their life, is as sacred and worthy of all love and respect as my sacrifice for you all was.

May the emotions experienced by you in that communion that you have had with my Calvary be a pillar for that commitment to grow in life and understanding. . .

May the revulsion that you have felt against the infamy of my punishment serve as a curb against the abuses that you yourselves may someday commit. . .

May your indignation become the ability to consolidate principles and maintain the good judgment and honesty that should govern all your actions. . .

And may your joy, as happened with me, arise from sacrifice. For your greatest challenge lies in the willingness to confront and deal with anything that comes in life, with constancy and love. Doing this will bring you the pleasure and the joy which is the grace that you grant yourselves.

All of this is part of the re-creation that the miracle that is your existence shall achieve, and at the same time, it is in your participation with the Father in his great Work that you will find the purpose and energy necessary to go on, with joy and hope and with the certainty that each day you will be better, and that the future will be better too. . . . Finally, you will rid yourselves forever of all fear and doubt. . . .

And you will smile at adversity, though your faces may be covered with tears. . . .

My chosen ones are all those who are willing to walk the path of life with the same devotion and the same love that I walked it with, that devotion and love that so many kind souls have given witness to. Remember that I told you that the person who eats of my flesh and drinks of my blood shall have life eternal. Sharpen your senses; understand the metaphor of my words. To eat of my flesh and drink of my blood means to live with the same willingness to sacrifice that I embraced; it means to accept your mission, whatever it may be, as I accepted mine; it means to love your fellow men and women as I loved them, and as I still love all of you. But my beloved, remember my words: My yoke is not heavy, and my burden is light, and that is true because the treasure that you will obtain is so immensely wonderful that in the end you will realize that all the effort was worthwhile, that meeting and overcoming all those vicissitudes that you met with on the path of life was worthwhile... And that is to know the Father and love him but it is also to begin to unlock the mystery of the metaphor that was my life.

In order to truly know what that mission is that I have just spoken to you about, you must closely examine your heart and see what your true inclination is, what it is that truly motivates you and gives you pleasure. If you do this with honesty and follow that inclination with integrity and determination, you will ensure your inner gratification and bring added happiness to your lives.

Meditate over what I have just told you. That is the only way that you will be able to enter through that narrow gate and walk that rugged road that I have been speaking of to you... the road that leads to your salvation.

I did not come to ask for adoration either for the One who sent me, or for myself. I told you before that the true worshippers shall worship the father in spirit and in truth… understand that the one you should adore is your true own achievements; you should value them, preserve them, and multiply them. That is the only adoration that yields fruit; it is the way in which the Father should be honored...
Love life and you will be loving Him; love your fellow men and women and you will be loving Him... Idols, things unknown and feared, are adored; but what one loves and honors is what one knows and is beneficial to one. For a long time He has been revealing Himself to you, and it was for that reason that I was sent, for that reason I am speaking to you again, so that you may know Him and love Him and honor Him...

Blessed are the fertile of heart who strive to understand my words. I would have you know that my happiness lies in you; I would have you understand that the universe is the visible fruit of that infinite love that creates everything at every moment; I would have you know that everything around you is a creation that is renewing itself, by itself, at every moment. When you understand that the creation is the constant and ongoing work of the Father, you will be able to feel His constant presence and will be part of my own happiness as your vision of the universe and yourselves expands.

You know that the material creation is vast, and that in it there is always some new secret to unlock, some new world to conquer. Know, then, too, that your inner universe is just that vast, and however much you get to know it, there will always be something new to discover, something new to conquer... Life, even after death, is an eternal challenge, and therein lies its richness and magnificence. Beloved ones, I would have you feel delight, for I would have you know that you are as deep as you are capable of diving, as perfect as you are capable of becoming... there are no limits... Everything you are able to dream, everything you are able to imagine, is within the realm of your possibilities, but first there are laws which must be obeyed, merits to gain, and goals to achieve. For just as God is generous, His ways are wise and straight.

Now I want to talk to you, the sheep in my flock, those of you who keep your hearts clean. I know that you lovingly and devotedly cultivate the seed of love that you were born with, that your works are good, and that you walk on the path of righteousness. You are my joy and my hope, and I ask that you also be the shepherds of those sheep who become lost. I would have you know that the greatest responsibility of those persons who have cleansed their hearts is to aid those who have not yet done so, those who have held back... It is there that that seed of love with which you were born truly germinates. Be apostles of the truth and give witness of the happiness that you have achieved, and you will enjoy the fruits of that labor as I enjoy it in you. Do not become comfortable or complacent, for there is always much to do and the fields are filled with those lost sheep calling out for consolation and direction...
The work is hard but its recompense shall be the ability to ever more rapidly approach the fount of love, to take delight in the sacred honey that only the prophets and my chosen ones are allowed to taste.

And you who are lost sheep, open your hearts to the call of the shepherd. I know that you are strong of character and that you boast that you need no one. You face the world as conquerors of riches; you and only you really count... But I know that in the dark of night and in the infinite loneliness that dwells within your hearts you often muffle your sobs so that no one can hear, and you hide even from yourselves... Therein lies your misery and unhappiness, for no one can hide from his or her real self, just as no one can deceive the truth... I would have you know that although you want to do it, the seed of love that is planted in you from the moment you were born can never be killed... You will be able to deceive yourselves, you will be able to employ all sorts of tricks and ruses, you will be able to deny your own humanity and commit the worst of crimes, but you should know that although you are always going to have to pay the price of those acts, to suffer the consequences, you are also always going to have the fount of love waiting for you, with the precious grace of forgiveness... And it will be then, in your repentance, when your tears will come forth like a torrent, when you finally understand the magnitude of your wrongdoing and realize the waste you have made of your lives... Listen, then, to my words today, and make your path straight... There is still time; I and every fiber of your being exhort you.

And those of you who look with mistrust upon your brothers and sisters who do not share your beliefs, and even come to see them as your enemies, I tell you that you should always be alert to the temptation to judge your fellow men and women. Long ago I told you that as you judge, so shall you be judged, and that the tree is known by its fruit, and today I have told you that there are as many paths as there are men and women among you, and also that none among you can claim a monopoly on truth...

Meditate on the content of my words, and you will understand that just as the creation is immensely rich in its manifest variety, so is it splendid in the options that it gives you in achieving that for which you were born. It is that attainment through which you become participants, with the Father, in the miracle that you truly are, growing in merits and in grace...re-creating yourselves through your clean actions and the realization of the reason for your own existence...
When you understand this, your vision will grow and the opinion that you have of your brothers and sisters will be corrected... Value the fruits of those other good trees that grow in such abundance in your fields. Their roots are not planted in the same fertile soil as yours, but I would have you know that the source of the fertility that you enjoy is the same source that has fertilized the soil where all those trees that give good fruit are planted...

Working in that way for His own glory.

Know, too, that just as you should not judge others for their religious beliefs, you should not judge any of your peers for their sexual inclinations.

I did not speak to you about this before because of the ignorance that was rampant in my day; that was why in my writings I told you that there were many more things to tell you, but that it was too much for then. . . .

My beloved ones, you now know much more about the complexity of your minds and how the circumstances of life can affect you and change you in countless ways. Each of you has a personal history that makes you unique in your preferences, judgments, and beliefs, and although your similarities are much greater than you can ever imagine—for they are rooted in your truest essence—Creation itself, through your physical, emotional, and intellectual diversity, mirrors the wondrous variety with which it manifests itself in all other ways, and this diversity among you is, in turn, a confirmation and result of the free will that you were born with. . . .

It is that complexity and that personal history that often makes it impossible for you to understand the deep springs of your own behavior—imagine, then, how much more difficult it is to understand the behavior of another.

To those of you whose sexual preference makes you feel different, those of you that social and cultural pressure makes you feel despised and stripped of your dignity, I tell you that I love you and bless you with all my heart, and that what our Father truly cares about is the way you act in your heart, whether you are able to transcend your bodies and achieve the spiritual communion that should be the fruit and guide of any relationship, whether you act with respect and honesty with one another and with your peers—that is what counts, and it is what will allow you to hold your heads high no matter how you may be blamed and reproached, no matter how much certain sectors of society try to strip you of your dignity.

And to those of you who take upon yourself the role of moralizers and insist on seeing certain types of behavior, certain preferences in those around you as deviations and abnormalities, I tell you that your actions are a banal pretension. . . . Be realistic, understand that the fact that other people are different from you does not make them better or worse. . . . As I told you before, until you cast the beam out of your own eye, you will not be able to see clearly enough to cast out the mote out of your brother’s eye.

Sex is the supreme instrument of procreation, and blessed are those who make use of it in that way within the bonds of marriage. That true respect and mutual understanding that should exist between a couple and that is at the same time the solid pillar on which the structure of the family, and of all of society, rests—this respect and understanding fully flowers within the intrinsic and transcendental commitment of matrimony. Yet for those among you who make use of sex to satisfy your needs and calm your passions (and this I say to all of you, for all men and women experience a moment when procreation is not possible), let there not be condemnation by one of you against another, nor banal casting of guilt, nor false pretense of Puritanism, for purity is demonstrated only through compassion and love, not recrimination. Let there be, rather, genuine commitment in each of you so that the most sublime sentiments of your inner self may come forth and flower and be the complement of sex, so that it is not just your physical needs that are satisfied, but at the same time those needs that exist in the most profound depths of your hearts. . . .

Look to be sure that each of you is a witness and governor of yourself, so that in your behavior there is no trace of aberration. It is in dissipation, vulgarity, and meanness of spirit that true aberration lies. . . .

If your preferences lead you, through the exercise of the free will with which you were born, not to take part in marriage, then let sex serve to strengthen and intensify the bonds between you, so that free from demands, you may solidify your relationship with harmony and love. . . .

Never allow sex to be imposed on or demanded of an innocent, for among all the types of victimization, that is the most despicable and aberrant, and divine justice is always vigilant, and shall be implacable with the transgressor.

Look to be sure that your dignity is not sullied by your actions, and that sex does not cloud your vision of a union of emotions and mutual respect that leads you to value one another and complement one another, in both joy and sorrow.

And to all of you I say that promiscuity is dissipation, and it is the unmistakable symptom of crass ignorance of the true task and mission for which sex was given to you. And the consequences of that behavior are devastating and obvious, both physically and spiritually, for all who persist in that behavior. . . .

Dear friends, make proper use of your time; do not waste it miserably in pointless blame-casting and reproach. . .

Be sure that if something arouses indignation in you, it is victimization. . .

If something embarrasses you, it is your own weaknesses. . .

If you have contempt for something, it is your own banality. . .

If you despise something, it is your own aberrations.

Do not be judges even of yourselves. Instead, be witnesses of yourselves, and governors of yourselves, and let compassion and love be your guides, and be sure that your words are always filled with consolation, hope, and guidance for others, never recrimination or condemnation. . .

That is the way you should honor yourselves.

There is a terrible grief that saddens the heart of the entire universe and that I am going to speak to you about now, a profound, indeed infinite grief that affects all of us who, throughout eternity, continue to love you, observe you, and guide you in spirit and deed. . . . My beloved ones, each time that one of you prevents a baby from being born, prevents it from coming into the light for which it was engendered; each time through your free will you make the decision to go against life and strip the right to birth from the tenderest and most vulnerable among you, you should know that the entire universe shudders with profound and infinite grief—grief for the victims and grief for those who in their fear, in their lack of principles, or in their ignorance make that decision and take that action, depriving themselves of the challenges, achievements, and wondrous joy that life gives to mothers and fathers alike. . . .

I know that many of you share this grief and that you stand firm alongside life. To you, my appreciation, my blessings, and my exhortation not to judge or condemn others. . . . I know how difficult it is for you, but out of that same love of life that you profess, so you should act. . . . And for those of you who support, justify, and legalize the theft of life from the most defenseless and vulnerable, my strongest exhortation: With your positions and arguments you attempt to justify the unjustifiable. Know that correctness, nobility and truth lie in appropriate education and society’s due support for pregnant women who need it. The legalization of the right to choose is the legalization of the cruelest of victimizations. With your laws you claim to be able to differentiate between babies who breathe air and babies who have not yet done so, despoiling the right to life from those who have not yet emerged from their mother’s womb. With this you become participants in and inciters of a shirking of the most honorable of responsibilities—for know this, that motherhood and fatherhood are a divine honor, and like all honor entail responsibility. . . .

To you, the powerful, those who decide how to employ the resources of nations yet with them finance your culture of death, to you who prefer to erect costly monuments to human vanity, squandering those resources instead of dedicating them to appropriate education and support of those souls-in-gestation who are the neediest among you, to you today I say that however much you try to appease your consciences, you will never be able to quiet the silent screams of those to whom you have denied life.

And to you, pregnant women who due to your circumstances have still not made a decision for life, I tell you today that you should fear absolutely nothing. There is no possible situation of poverty, anxiety, or solitude that can take our company away from you, or our support. Be firm and have faith in the Father and faith in me—we will never abandon you! . . . And you will see that each of the smiles that you receive from the fruits of your womb will fill you with the joy and energy you need to deal with all the problems and vicissitudes that you must face, and you will see that each time you look into the eyes of your newborns you will see a spark of your own souls being blessed by the entire universe. . . .
Know that the mother’s womb is also a sacred instrument of procreation, and that life is a direct product of the divine breath of the Supreme Creator. To prevent the flowering of life is to oppose His divine will, it is to deny to a baby the same wonderful gift that made it possible for you to become who you are.
Make a decision always to do right, listen to the most genuine teachings of your hearts, and you will never repent. Share with God the gift of life—I repeat that to do this is to honor Him and honor yourselves.

Honor and glory to you, mothers of the world, for your courage, your devotion, and your love of life!

To my Jewish brothers and sisters I say today that I love you and bless you with all my heart. My lineage is the same as yours. You know that my ancestors and yours descended from the same patriarchs, those who began our divine mission to be the people chosen by the Father to reveal Himself to humankind...

Even though you did not recognize me yesterday and do not recognize me today, I would have you know that I am part of that divine mission and that my message was and continues to be of hope and love for both you and all the other peoples of the earth...

And I said it yesterday and I say it once again today: I did not come to change the Law or its commandments, for they are a sacred legacy given to us by the Father. I came instead to announce to you a new era and to announce to all the peoples of the earth, and all the generations, that salvation comes through knowledge of the one true God, that God who chose us for his revelation and glory.

I reprimanded some of you, as today I reprimand those who busy themselves in keeping up appearances, the hypocrites whose actions have the objective only of feeding the ego and obtaining the riches of this world, those who use the temple for their own ends, those who exist today as they existed yesterday, Jews and non-Jews... .To you I preached in the synagogues, I made your blind see, your crippled walk, I cured your sick, and my words were and are a consolation and hope for the humble and destitute...Those were my works, and all were done for love and to the glory of Him who sent me...

I know that you remain faithful to your Law and your traditions; I know all your pains and sufferings, your persecutions and the genocide of which you have been victims; I know how much you have suffered and are still suffering, and I know it because my tears have been your tears, I have suffered the same pains. I know that it is not easy for you to understand the reason for so much adversity... There is no human reason capable of explaining it or justifying it...
To be able to understand, you should think long about the wisdom that dwells in your hearts. You know that those adversities have strengthened your character, but you should not allow that to be a reason to harden your hearts. It is in your hearts that your greatest treasure resides, and your greatest heritage. If you keep your hearts open, you could die a thousand times of pain but I would have you know that a thousand times too, you will be resurrected through the power of love...

As a people, you should rejoice for having been chosen for this wondrous mission, and as an individual you should understand that although that mission has been and still is a heavy, painful burden for all our lineage, that should not be a reason for hatred or rancor, but rather an incentive to develop your faculties and potentials.

Beloved brothers and sisters, I would have you know that I respect your traditions, your rites, and your fertile inheritance, but I would ask you to pay attention to all my words and to allow your heart and your intelligence, deep within yourselves, the opportunity to reflect on them. I say to you again that all of my words were and are spoken only out of love, and all that I ask is that they be given the attention and discernment that they merit. Grant me, and grant yourselves, that opportunity.

And to all of you, I say that the era and the kingdom that I announced began when, through my works and my words, I made possible the advent of your faith and your conviction in the existence of that One for whom I came to bear witness...

The Father, the only true God, is all love, but because he is love and also infinite wisdom, he has been strict in his ways...

The tragic events that history records, and those that constantly occur as the product of those ways, must occur as they do so that humankind can learn the proper use of the free will that it enjoys, and so that it may rectify its path... And all that is part of the divine plan...

And everything will become revealed to you as you grow more able to develop your own perception and as you grow more able to act always rightly. Be always aware of this: it will aid you in your divine mission to constantly re-create yourselves, for your own happiness and good fortune.

There have been and still are many who commit atrocities in the name of God, who in the shadows of the night plot macabre plans of death and murder and shield themselves behind His holy name. Those, too, shall be known by their fruits, which are fruits of death and desolation... .

They misuse the divine privilege of free will with which they were endowed, and use that freedom of action to sow pain and suffering and desolation among their fellow men and women... They nourish themselves on hatred and with their demagoguery they distort reality. They are the anti-Christ of which the scriptures speak, and I would have you know that they shall reap what they sow, for they are judged with the severity that their own actions demand...

God is life, and life can never be honored with death. Thus you who have committed and are now committing those crimes, I ask you, too, to listen to my words and correct yourselves, for if you do not you will meet divine justice, which is strict and powerful, though it can also be magnanimous and kind.

And you who have been and are still victims, those who suffered and are still suffering from the depravity of these anti-Christs, stay firm. I have told you and tell you again today, that happy are those who have hunger and thirst for justice, for their hunger and thirst shall be sated... amen.

Something important that you should understand is that just as all creation constantly renews itself and transforms itself, so has the Father’s relationship to you changed and renewed through time. In the early times of His revelation, it was necessary that He use His power, so that through fear those peoples whose ignorance and rebelliousness was rampant might begin to find the straighter path... That was the need for the Flood, the plagues, Sodom and Gomorrah, and the desolation that the wars of those times caused; that was the necessity for the announcements of calamities made by the prophets of all times, their calls for honoring the one true God... The use of punishment and the promise of salvation were important tools in the divine process of revelation... The eternal fires of hell, the prophesies of calamities, and strict laws to govern human behavior were necessary because of the widespread barbarity, slavery, and use of force and violence that prevailed in the ancient world...

My mission was to establish a new alliance with God based on your knowledge of His infinite love and on the harmony and love that you men and women should share with one another. I came to put an end to the fear and idolatry, the frivolity and hypocrisy... And that was the reason for the commandment to love one another. If you love one another, you will do unto others as you would have others do unto yourselves. In that commandment are concentrated all the other commandments; in that commandment lies the key to salvation... It will be when all of you apply it in your lives that all of those outbreaks of violence and barbarity that still, most unfortunately, persist in your modern world will end.

And I called myself the Son of Man because within myself I carried your needs and within myself your hopes flowered; with my works I conquered the master of this world and within me the helpless among you find consolation. I was and am your most brilliant light and I was and am the path that you must follow. I called myself the Son of Man because I was a man of flesh, and I called myself the Son of God because through my surrender, my works, and my sacrifice I came to merit that name, and if I did so it was so that you might understand that you yourselves shall be able to call yourselves the sons and daughters of God as I did, when you have come to merit it... I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one goes to the Father unless it be through me... Today, beloved friends, I tell you this again.

Understand my metaphor: I am the way, the way of love, for everything I did and said was motivated by love and it is through love that you can get to the Father. I am the truth for all I said and say is true and only illuminated by the truth you will be able to walk the path to Him, getting over all the difficulties you may encounter and I am the life for only living and armed with love and truth is that you will be able to arrive to the final consecration with His divine presence.

And remember my words when the masters of the Law accused me of profanation when I proclaimed myself son of the Most High. I reminded them of what is written in their Law: I have said that you are gods... Beloved ones, I have told you that the possibilities are infinite, the essence of your spirit is the same as He who created all things, and thus it is for His glory and your own... Understand what I have said and rejoice within yourselves, for wonderful is your potential...

And I would have you also understand that your earthly life is the bridge that you must cross in order to come to the enjoyment of the peaceful dwelling that awaits you. It will be then that the full revelation will be complete: the Creator’s revelation to you, and your revelation to yourselves... . At last you will know the full greatness of your own potential and your own powers, but I would have you know that you will also discover other bridges to cross, for eternity is an infinite sequence of challenges, achievements, and goals to conquer, and therein lies its magnificence, therein consists the wonder of that eternal dwelling that awaits you.
And I tell you all this so that you may have an idea of what you will obtain if you remain firm in the path of light, the path that I have spoken to you of, but you must always remember, too, that the true achievements are those that are reached through proper growth and proper re-creation of yourselves. That is why I tell you yet again, it is a personal task and no one can do it for you...

Today I proclaim to you a new religion, the religion that you yourselves are capable of forging in your consciences, without dogma or threat, without fear and without adoration, based only on the conviction that He is, and based on the knowledge that you yourselves acquire gradually, day by day, and the full understanding of the reason for the creation and the reason for everything that constantly occurs around you.

This is a new stage in that new era that I announced to you before. I speak to you today to awaken you, and so that you will understand that the true worship of the Father is worship performed in the heart, in private and in secret, that it is through your good actions that you will come to be worthy of developing the potential with which you were born and come to merit the enjoyment of the powers that you will obtain through this process...

I would have you understand as well that in this new stage of the revelation, the conditions now existing make possible the convergence of all the many forms in which human thought has perceived its own divine nature, has perceived and known the one true God. Today you possess the instruments needed to bring together the noblest, most proper, and most transcendental achievements that humanity has been treasuring up through the many messengers of love that the Father has sent you and to unite those achievements in that supreme religion that I am proclaiming. The actions, commitment and tenacity of all those great masters made them worthy to unlock the most hidden secrets, which they had the holy courage to proclaim openly on many occasions, even at the risk of losing their own lives... Today I tell you that I have not been the only anointed one: history is filled with prophets and martyrs, and each of you, I would have you know, has the potential to become a prophet, too, and through the love and abnegation of your actions to feel that infinite joy which, through their surrender, the martyrs also felt...

Today I wish my words to give witness to you not just of the Father but of you yourselves. I speak to you to shake you, so that you will react, to urge you to strive to fulfill the noblest and most genuine responsibilities that you have to yourselves, to make the best use of the time that has been given you. I urge you to awaken your understanding and absorb my teachings; I come to show you the inexhaustible fountain of wisdom and love that dwells within your hearts... Find yourselves and value yourselves through the identification with the sublime that exists within each and every one of you, and the peace and joy that you yearn for will come to you as a natural consequence...

My words and the words of other masters that have lived and that will live in the future, are and will be a light that will guide you in that sacred achievement that is crossing the bridge that I spoke to you of. And these words must also be a source of the energy needed to achieve that goal. But you must keep your ears and eyes open in order to overcome the obstacles and remain on the right path. You must have the conviction that although you stumble a thousand times, stray from the path a thousand times, likewise a thousand times will that light give you the strength you need to get up and find the right path again.

And the creation of that supreme personal religion that I have proclaimed to you consists in your faith and in the compendium that you yourselves are able to make of the transcendental values and principles that the experiences of your lives have enabled you to develop and make part of your awareness. You will begin to identify those values if you keep your minds open, sharpen your senses, and persevere in that task... Therefore, it is very important that you also identify your weaknesses, and that you be able to control your mind and your emotions. Life constantly presents you with situations that test the control you have over yourselves, yet those situations are at the same time valuable opportunities, for through the process of your decisions and actions you may come to identify both the strengths and the weak areas in your mind that you must work on in order to strengthen your character...so that you will be able to make your life a masterpiece and at the same time enjoy it for the marvelous adventure that it truly is.

Beloved friends, understand what I have just told you. The satisfaction that you so dearly long for can be found through an appreciation of the wonders that surround you and the wonder that is your own life and your own being.

And that strength of character is the thing that will never allow your emotions to dominate you, even in the most critical moments. You will be able to remain firm even when all around you are baffled and confused and out of control, even when others cast false blame upon you...

You will be able to remain firm when others mistrust you, for the truth you know about yourselves will be your strongest shield... but it will give you the lucidity you need to understand the behavior of others and to grow in the forgiveness and forbearance that that understanding brings you...

You will be able to remain firm even when you feel that everything around you is crumbling, that everything you have achieved is lost, for you shall have sufficient vision to understand that what is truly important in you cannot be destroyed by anyone or anything... And you will have sufficient strength to begin again, regardless of the risk or the effort required to reconstruct all that has crumbled, to regain all that has been lost...

You will develop the virtue of being genuine, and of not being overcome by the glory of triumph when you triumph, not being depressed by the grief of failure when you fail... And that same authenticity shall be your best introduction to others...

If I speak to you about all this it is so that you can see for yourselves the importance of the personal attributes that you must identify, develop, and value in yourselves as the essential elements in the formation of that supreme religion that I have proclaimed to you today... It is much more than doctrines, precepts and rites; it is being without fault in all aspects of your personality and all your actions, combined with the firm commitment to grow in knowledge and love of all creation, including yourselves... for I would have you know that in the degree to which you are able to appreciate your own life lies the key to achieving the growth of that love that you must profess for yourselves, a love without egotism or vanity, the same love that you must extend to all your fellow men and women and that will bring to you all that you yearn for.

Dear ones, I want you to know that I fully understand your anguish and your doubts when death touches those close to you and you reflect upon it. I know that since time immemorial, your intellect has been grappling with the harsh reality of the existence of death; I know that sometimes skepticism about transcendence comes over you and you become frustrated, and this occurs because your intellect will never be able to provide you with answers to your most disquieting questions. It is your heart that is the repository of those answers, and only through inward, emotional perception will you be able to fully satisfy that need, for only the assurance of your own transcendence is able to quench your thirst for that knowledge. . . .

Eternal life is a fascinating concept, but it is impossible for you to unravel because the physical universe in which you live is ruled by time. . . . Your bodies and minds are conditioned by time, but you must know that at the end of your physical life you will achieve liberation from the limitations of your bodies and your minds. . . . Neither time nor gravity nor any of the other laws that rule the physical universe will have any effect on you. If throughout your lives, and by the actions of love that you are able to carry out, you have been able to achieve the necessary awakening of the spirit that lives within your hearts, then you will be able to be whatever you want to be, go wherever you want to go, through time and space. . . .

It will be you yourselves who control all the forces and laws by which you have always been ruled, and at the same time, knowledge and truth will open their doors to you, and when you enter that dwelling you will find the yearned-for tree of life with its branches outstretched to you, its divine fruit at last accessible to you. . . . And when you eat of that fruit you will be transformed into pure feeling. . . And it is then that you will become an integral part of knowledge and truth; it is then that you will understand that that which you have striven to understand, and to acquire, throughout your lives has been present in you, dwelling in your hearts, in your potential. . . .

Dear ones, the essence of happiness, of that sense of well-being that you have so longed for, is the essence of knowledge and of truth. Reflect on this, and the veil of mysteries will become more transparent, your vision will reach beyond the horizon, and you will gain more security and more firmness. And with those things as allies, the evil of men will never again be able to wound you, and the limitations of your own minds will begin to disappear. . . and you will acquire powers. . . the most important of which is that you will be able to perceive and become aware of the graces that the universe is constantly pouring down upon you. And there will be no more fears or doubts; you will finally understand that it is in the service of others, in your generosity, in your compassion, in the actions of love that you carry out that you will come to the dwelling of the tree of life. It is then that you will fully understand the metaphor of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, which is the symbol of physical life, in which you have the power of choice between those two alternatives. . .
Dear ones, before you are able to eat of the tree of life, you must eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you must live in this world and come to understand that the thing worth having, that which truly enriches you, can be found in the choice of good, and that that choice is none other than choosing to love, and to serve others in every way you can. . . .

Dear ones, it is through the exercise of faultlessness that you will be able to acquire the firmness that you need so that the opinions and actions of others will not be a cause for suffering or anguish in your spirit. Be always aware that the best guide will always be within your grasp, in the most sublime part of your being. I would have you know that the words and actions of your fellow men and women are always determined by their limitations and their own perceptions of reality, and that the human mind generally twists those perceptions to the benefit of the ego and the interests and desires of each person... That is why it is so important that you keep your intelligence always awake, so that in each situation that presents itself, you are able to identify its true cause and thereby make the proper decisions... Remember my attitude when everyone around me struck me, spat on me, and cursed me. You should know that although my pain and grief was infinite, my firmness was unshakable, for I possessed the certainty that it was ignorance that motivated them, and thus my forbearance could be infinite as well, and my forgiveness, and my plea to the Father that He, too, forgive them...

The full understanding of the factors that determine the actions of your fellow men and women will be another of your most important allies in achieving knowledge of the way your own mind functions and the measures you should take to control it and make maximum use of it... Your mind, your thoughts, are the magnificent instruments that makes it possible for you to re-create that which I have spoken to you about, but it will only be with that proper control that you will arrive at maximum potential...

Beloved friends, I tell you all this so that you will understand that even though you manage to have access to all the wisdom of the world, it will make no difference if you do not first come to the conviction that what truly makes a difference is the inner labor that you yourselves perform. You put too much effort in reading treasured books, in listening to inspired sermons and wise speeches, but all that is not remotely enough... You must delve deep into that immeasurable inner universe that I have spoken to you of, for it is only through proper reflection and introspection that you will be able to free yourself from that false dependency that you cultivate for the outward things of the world... What you should cultivate is the constancy of delving into the inward emptiness and filling it with the awareness of the true self that each of you is. When you do this, you will begin to obtain wisdom through your own life experiences, and it will be then that you truly reap the profit of those books, those sermons, and those speeches. My principal mission is to make you see that my greatest happiness will come when you no longer need to cling to me for consolation or direction, when you are able to pronounce the words I have pronounced and are able to achieve the vision that I have had... for yourselves... And that is why I speak to you once again.

I would have you know that the paradise that you yearn for is within you, waiting to be discovered. All the outward things of the world, from your own body to the most distant star, has been created only to make possible your revelation to yourself, so that you may achieve the certainty of your own divinity, and I would have you know also that all creation constantly conspires toward that end. All the events of your life, all those situations that you call coincidences, all those contacts that you have had with your fellow men and women since you were born, every tear spilled and every moment of laughter are an integral part of that grand and solemn conspiracy... Let all who have ears understand my words.

If you do understand them, you will realize that the suffering or misfortune that you may be experiencing today, the problems or tragedies that arise in your lives-some of those are the products of your own actions and others of the divine scheme of creation, and I would urge you to have the certainty that so it is, in one way or another, with all of you... Never feel singled out by life, for life neither privileges anyone nor is merciless to anyone. Remember that it is not possible to know with certainty what is happening in other persons’ lives or what other persons are experiencing, and I tell you all this so that you may grow and may achieve the inner peace that always accompanies that growth.

Beloved ones, you must also put aside all those pointless deliberations about whether life after death exists or not, and what it is like if it does. With the works that I performed I proved the veracity of my words and of the eternal alliance between the one true God and yourselves. I conquered death on several occasions in order to give witness of the supreme power of the universe, and today I tell you that what truly concerns you is whether you have life and what you do with it before you die... For then physical death will become that which it truly is, just a word. For with the certainty of your own immortality you will manage to dissipate the fear and mystery that has always accompanied death.

And the only way to become fully aware of that immortality is by entering fully into the present, for that present is already life eternal, and it is when you keep your mind alert and when you totally discard your past that you will perceive the present in all its fullness. I would have you understand that you should not allow the events of the past, no matter what they have been, to be a cause for suffering or distraction or anguish within you. It is on your present that you should concentrate; that is the key that will give you the proper perspective so that you may overcome all the obstacles that arise from day to day... And this is the key to that success that awaits you.

All the things that I have spoken to you about should help you to expand your vision. I have told you that there are no limits; the only limits that bind you are those you impose on yourselves through ignorance and your own weaknesses. You should always remember that, and it is through the formation of the personal religion that I proclaim to you today that you will be able to expand your own horizons. It will be you who have the supreme responsibility for guiding and directing yourselves, and supervising yourselves. I would have you understand that religions down through history have played a prominent role in helping to guide the paths of nations in a more spiritual direction, by disseminating and encouraging knowledge of the scriptures and other diverse mystical legacies of other masters. There have been and still are many good souls within those religions, whose dedication and praiseworthy labor have earned them the right to be called apostles of truth, but we know that some others have taken advantage of them, and are today still taking advantage of them, to achieve base personal objectives. There are Pharisees today as there were in the past; they are the wolves in sheep’s clothing that I spoke to you of in the gospels.

Beloved friends, to the degree you crystallize your personal religion you will be safe from the teeth of those wolves. No one will ever be able to manipulate you, and at the same time you yourselves will be an example to others, an achievement that you will attain through the faultlessness of your actions every day and every hour.

It is that faultlessness that will not allow you to go on issuing every sort of opinion on every sort of topic, as you have been doing up to now. Opinions are judgments that your minds constantly make; that is a practice that you must end. Devote more time to reflecting and studying, and stop judging and forming opinions. Concentrate once and for all on what is truly profitable and meritorious... Focus on the positive and you will put an end to frivolity forever.

You must also put an end to the sense of guilt and culpability, just as you must put an end to everything frivolous that arises in your minds. I would have you know that when you feel guilty you are hating yourselves... And hatred is the most negative thing that you can cultivate. Its force is destructive, and it diminishes the best of yourselves. Accept your responsibility when you sin, when you choose what is not right, but reflect honestly on the reason for that straying. That is the way to add firmness to your character. I would have you understand, too, that just as you should be the best, indeed only, supervisors of yourselves, so you should be forbearing with yourselves. That behavior is only fair, and it is a behavior that will make your inner harmony flower-that inner harmony that is the foundation and at the same time product of that personal religion that you must create through your own life experiences.

And cultivate charity; it is the virtue that will bring forth the sweetest fruits. Sharing, giving, is the dwelling place of those white doves that shall be your guide through that infinite inner universe that is the most authentic essence of yourselves. I would have you understand that it is through giving to your fellow men and women the things that you possess that you will become wealthier, for by fulfilling their needs you will be fulfilling your own and will ensure for yourselves more abundance, both materially and spiritually...

And perceive your oneness with creation; know that everything that happens in one way or another affects you, just as everything that you do affects creation. That is also the reason for the importance of always retaining the capacity for positive perception. If you are predisposed to the negative, everything will appear negative to you. That attitude is a negation of life and its wonders, and also limits and frustrates the very reason for your existence. I would have you understand that one of the greatest responsibilities that life has assigned to you is to constantly harmonize both with yourselves and with the creation that you are part of, and that responsibility cannot be avoided; it makes the difference between delighting in the pleasures that harmony provides to the person who cultivates it and suffering the consequences that follow upon negativism and disharmony... I would have you understand that life is not a constant battle, as many say it is. That perception is the direct result of not accepting the mission that has been assigned to you, which I have spoken to you of. It is true that sometimes you will have to struggle, but it does not have to be against life or against creation; the battles that must be fought should be fought to conquer yourselves, to beat back the opportunism your own minds sometimes impose on you as an alternative to your actions, so that you can easily and quickly obtain the material things you yearn for...

Beloved ones, it is in the daily dealing with your material life, your desires and ambitions, your weaknesses and greatnesses, your frustrations and achievements, that little by little you shape yourselves, and that is the importance of fulfilling that responsibility with which you were born, the responsibility to harmonize with creation, to be aware of it and the profit that awaits you when you faithfully fulfill it is the stimulus that will help you to achieve the rightness that should characterize all your actions, both toward yourselves and toward your fellow men and women...

I know that many times you ask yourselves how it is possible for God to allow hunger, sickness, misfortune, and death, especially the death of children, as has always happened and will continue to happen in the world... Beloved friends, I would have you know that those misfortunes, as lamentable as they may be, are an integral part of the necessary process by which life makes it possible for you to grow and develop toward awareness of your own divinity. I would have you understand that many of those things that you call misfortunes are the result of decisions and actions that you yourselves make, using the free will that you enjoy. And I would have you know that death itself is part of that process that is life. It is you yourselves who, through your perceptions, call it abominable, fearsome, and lamentable. But what is truly abominable, fearsome, and lamentable is the fact that some of you have caused, and continue to cause, death to others... . and there can be no divine interference to eliminate all that, for the same reasons that nothing and no one can grant you what you can only acquire through the merits that you accumulate through your own life experiences ... All of this makes life the crucible it is, and that crucible offers you the opportunity and the conditions for your own purification, the purification that you achieve through those life experiences and those merits that the rightness of your actions brings you.

And everything is part of the wondrous design of creation, whose reason for existence is to give you the means to re-create yourselves, developing your potential, growing in His likeness. The Father created you in His image and likeness, as the scriptures tell us. He created you with the intrinsic potential for your own divinity, but as I have told you, it is only through your life experiences, the love that you store up from your life, your tenacity and firmness and the uprightness of your decisions and your actions that you will be able to develop that potential and to re-create yourselves, and thereby become similar to Him in love and wisdom and power... And that is the destiny of all men and women, and it is part of the mystery that surrounds you and that you will gradually unlock as you grow and develop that potential...

My beloved ones, today I have spoken directly to you, and with sufficient clarity; I have explained to you in more detail what I learned from my Father, but I want you to know that I am aware that my words alone will never be enough. It is only through the work that each of you does with yourselves, in the privacy of your own being, that you will be able to understand them and apply them in their full meaning, to the glory of Him who sent me and to the glory of yourselves...

Beloved friends, I would have you know that my heart is divided into as many parts as there are numbers of you, and the love that I profess for you is infinite for each and every one of you. In no way do I draw a distinction between you, just as in no way do I condemn you; I understand you and support you and my arms will be outstretched, waiting for you, no matter how long the wait and no matter what, in your ignorance, you may have been capable of saying or doing. My Father is in me as I am in Him, and all of you are in me as I shall one day be in all of you, and you in Him.

And seek not to know who the author and messenger of my words is. The only author is that infinite and glorifying love that penetrates each of your fibers as it penetrates every atom of the universe, creating all and covering all with its soft mantle, giving consolation and joy to all of you, with no other purpose than that each of you become, in turn, a fountain of ever greater love.

Dear ones, may my peace dwell in your hearts forever.

Jesus of Nazareth

“A religious belief” said the Master “is not a statement of Reality, but a hint, a clue about something that is a mystery, beyond the grasp of human thought. In short, a religious belief is only a finger pointing to the moon.

“Some religious people never get beyond the study of the finger.

“Others are engaged in sucking it.

“Others yet use the finger to gouge their eyes out. These are the bigots whom religion has made blind.

“Rare indeed is the religionist who is sufficiently detached from the finger to see what it is indicating=these are those who, having gone beyond belief, are taken for blasphemers.”

From “One Minute Nonsense” by the great teacher Anthony de Mello.
